River Jordan

Leaving the Sea of Galilee after breakfast this morning (Friday), we stopped at the mouth of the River Jordan which is about the only place there's enough water to get well and truly dunked. Presbyterians might make do further down stream, but Baptists and those with similarly good theology :) flock here from all over the world. We got behind a group of Nigerians. Four of our group got baptized, which was pretty special to be a part of since we've become fairly buddy-buddy after spending so much time together.

We drove past the original site where John baptized Jesus, which our guide said should be finished in a year or so. While it's a joint venture between the Israelis and Jordanians (no guarantees there), it should be ready in about a year. Here's the original site in the photo on the left.
