Cana: No Room in the Inn

Ok, the no room thing was Bethlehem, but here we are in Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle (water to wine) and the place where it all happened is closed. Knock knock. No one's there.

So we get the consolation prize in this very Arab town and eat lunch here: lamb in pita bread with tomatoes and cucumbers and hummus and all kinds of other goodies thrown in.

More good news: there are plenty of vendors willing to sell us whatever we are willing to buy: from Cana wine to... "Are those the original wine pots up there on the roof?"                                "For you sir, special price. Just today."
